Battlestar Galactica 3.19

OK, so here are some basic notes I made Sunday night, I'll elaborate where necessary, they're sort of in reverse chronological order, so deal with it.

Lee Adama + suit = the sex

Lee betraying Roslin > Brutus betraying Caesar
- I was so disturbed by Roslin's look, like she had fear in her eyes. When she begged him not to ask her the question and called him Captain Apollo, my heart broke. Lee you asshole. I get you're pissed at your Dad and acting out because of Kara's death, but Roslin? You're taking her down too? If you didn't look so fuckable I'd just turn my back on you.

Am I the only one actually rooting for Baltar?
- Now, I've been a longtime fan of the Gaius Baltar fan club, so no one should be shocked that I'm 100% behind him. I think it's hysterical that Lee is convinced that everyone believes Baltar's guilty. I genuinely think the guy's just been caught up in a bad situation since day 1. I couldn't understand why they haven't brought up the Cylons-holding-a-gun-to-his-head thing. I would have started things off like that. Speaking of openings...

Baltar's attorney is the worst ever. WTF is he doing? Baltar looked like he was going to shit himself during the opening.
- I get that he's trying to prove something, but the public hates Baltar. They hate him a lot. So beginning things with how Baltar made things better and saved everyone's life? Hell, even I laughed at the thought. Anyone would have been better in charge than Baltar. I say many great things about him, but I never said he was a good leader. Hell, Six was the one who pushed him into politics as Roslin's VP. Poor Baltar, the coward was showing through during that opening. He had this look of "This crazy fuck is going to bring me down." Aw hell, thanks to Lee, all the prosecution's witnesses have been discredited, so Baltar will probably win the trial.

Now other people believe Baltar is God, too.
- That was my though when the crazy woman asked Baltar to bless her kid. I mean, even Baltar doesn't think he's that much of a deity. That's the only smidge of modesty the guy's got.

- Oh Lee, your wife leaves you, and Kara's dead, so you can't even have spousal separation sex. I saw that look, too. He totally realized he'd been hoping for this to happen for months, but he had wanted to crawl into Starbuck's arms... I felt the pain, too.

- Six... Caprica Six. You know, one of the things that bothers me about this show, is Baltar hasn't shaved for weeks, but Six has perfectly done hair, clothing, and makeup. Yeah, I saw that lip gloss. Come on writers, we saw Gina, and Trisha looked amazing even with the beaten look. So would it be that hard to make her look like she's in prison. That or get Baltar a fucking razer and a hair cut. That shit's getting out of control. At least Caprica's Baltar's got the suit and clean look. Now that's the Baltar I fell in love with.

- Anders and Tigh, welcome to the Dead Wives Club. Grey's Anatomy introduced the Dead Dads Club, except the members of that club don't here music coming from bizarre places. I have no clue why they're hearing that music. In the promo for this week's finale, Anders said something like "We're all Cylons." Now clearly that isn't the case, but WTH??? Guess that's what finales are for.

Lost 3.13

Another great episode, this is the third in a row. I hate that this show gets so much flack, because it keeps getting better, but the ratings keep hitting lows. Then ignorant people start talking cancellations and quick endings. I just ignore them. For one thing Lost has been picked up, and second, the producers have a very clear plan of the ending, and I believe the sooner we end, the earlier we'll get important episodes. If this show were picked up for 2 seasons, we'd just end up with more filler and less plot. I think ending next season is great, people think it's because of poor ratings, I think it's logical and a good choice.

But last night's episode. I probably don't have as much to say about it as I should. Locke's dad pushed him out of a window. That's how he became paralyzed. Earlier in the day, I theorized that our Sawyer, James Ford, had somehow shot Locke in an incident of some sorts. Turns out I got the wrong Sawyer, and the wrong weapon. OK, if Locke's Dad isn't THE Sawyer, then who the hell is? He has to be the guy James Ford's been looking for. The guy who ruined his family. I wonder if we'll learn that soon, I mean, it is likely Locke will mention Sawyer to the guy, and he'll be like "??" I think our Sawyer and the REAL Sawyer will meet. Or not, I could be wrong.

I get Locke's desire to stay on the island. I mean, if I could suddenly walk on an island, I wouldn't want to leave. But according to Ben, Locke is afraid of his Dad, not afraid of a wheelchair. If Ben is right, Locke's being a coward and selfish. OK, either way the guy's being selfish, not that I don't understand where he's coming from. I do, but our boy Jack won't. I think they'll have an interesting conversation. "So, John, you blew up our only way of getting off the island... WHY THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT????"

I decided I won't even try to understand what this "box" is or how it works. It's not worth it, I won't figure it out. I also won't figure out why John is communing with the island and Ben isn't. I'll let other people use their brains for that.

The main thing I'm hung up on is "Exposé", the Paulo and Nikki episode. The one the producers swear will make everyone like those characters. I don't believe them. I am not sure how they could do it, but hey, I'll keep an open mind... sorta.

Ugly Betty 1.18

I cannot believe I never really watched this show before. I caught it during a marathon over Christmas, but I never really latched on to it. But tonight's episode was beyond hysterical. I was rolling and laughing to hold. It was also really heartwarming with Marc hiding his sexual orientation (btw I thought it was so sweet how they didn't say 'gay' or 'homosexual') and afraid to be himself. Actually, he was totally OK with acting "swishy" in front of his mom, because she didn't notice. One of the greatest things was when she was insulting Justin and his "swishy-ness" and Marc couldn't hide it. I was so proud of him, it was so empowering for him, even though his mom rejected him.

Daniel. It's so sad how he expects everyone to be disappointed in him. Granted, I was upset that he hadn't been writing his letters from the Editor, I thought that was tacky, and Betty totally deserved to give that look to him. But Daniel shouldn't have given up when Alexis did her stuff. He should have kept at it, I really think he isn't this party boy/sex machine. I think he really has potential, as long as he doesn't become the person his family expects him to be. Judging from that ending shot of his threesome, it doesn't look that way. I think Betty will whip him into shape, it's what she's always done. BTW, did you notice that Alexis's assistant was Deputy Leo from Veronica Mars? I got very excited when I figured out where I knew him from.

OK, so I'd seen some prior episodes of Ugly Betty, but I think I'll have to tune into this more often, it was that fun and cute and enjoyable. Plus I never get tired of Justin and his... "swishy-ness".

Grey's Anatomy 3.19

Um, this week's episode was alright. I don't really have that much to say, other than Izzie's fallen hard for George at the wrong time. Bad. Bad Izzie. Bad George for not telling Callie. Sure shit would have sucked for a while, but in the long run, the truth is better. This is only going to blow up in Izzie and George's faces, and it'll probably happen during sweeps.

In real life I got my prom dress, which is so hot and so different from what I would normally get. It's getting shipped from Bloomindale's in New York City, so I can take pictures of it over the weekend and post them. Until then, you can check out this, though mine is pinker. I also did a drastic hair cut. My hair was way too long and shapeless. My hair was down below my chest, and that is unacceptable. It was dragging me down. Now it's above my shoulder and it's cute and bouncy and I can use less product and it looks better. I'll take pictures soon and put them up. I'm not a picture person, and this stuff takes planning.

Today I got to go to the Apple store, and it was cool and I was very pumped, but maybe I had built so much hype around it, but it was just an Apple store. It was in a glass cube, which was the shit, but other than that... Still, it was nice to have finally been there. I'm totally getting a Macbook or a Macbook Pro for my college laptop, though I'm not sure what I have to do to get my Dad to understand why OS X is so cool. It's totally because he uses Linux all the time that he's forgotten how shitty and crappy XP is. Also, he's never actually used OS X, so he shouldn't talk about things he doesn't understand. The worst is he thinks I don't know what I'm talking about. Psht, parents.
